2 day marketing seminar for actors featuring major talent agents and photographers at the Chicago Actors Studio!!!

Top talent agents and photographers will be joining The Chicago Actors Studio this September to help set struggling actors on the right path to successful careers and avoid the pitfalls and frustrations that way too many fall prey to because of lack experience and knowledge about the business.

“Show business is actually two words,” Edward Dennis Fogell, artistic director of The Chicago Actors Studio, “Show” and “Business.” Way too many aspiring actors know way too little about how this wacky but wonderful business works. New actors may be asking themselves questions such as, “Now that I have the training what do I do? Where do I go? What should I look out for?” and so on. The “business” part is just as important as the “show” part. But because aspiring actors are so hungry and know practically nothing, they are way too often taken advantage of by ruthless people and organizations. For example, there are many individuals who promise a quick short-cut to the top – at a cost of several thousand dollars – and even as much as $10,000 just to attend some useless “showcase,” somewhere in Florida. In the end, so many potentially wonderful actors just give up and fall by the wayside in frustration.

“We here at The Chicago Actors Studio, feel we have a responsibility to the theatrical community that we serve,” says Mr. Fogell, “and especially to every student that passes through our doors. For these reasons and after years of experiencing the frustrations of so many hopefuls, we are compelled to do our part and host a two day marketing and information seminar that will address these key issues, which everyone must face along their journey to fulfilling their dreams”.

Planning is now in the works for a two day weekend event, with industry professionals sharing their expertise, experiences and love for the business. So far, included in the prestigious list of movers and shakers speaking at this seminar are: “Lily’s Talent & modeling agency”, “Acting Out Talent”, “Zoe McKenzie Photography” and “Brian McConkey Photography,” just to name a few.

Anyone that is serious about having a successful career in the performing arts is welcome to attend. This event will be held at The Chicago Actors Studio theatre at 2040 North Elston Ave, Chicago, IL. Free parking is a half a block north west of the theatre in the Best Buy parking lot. Box lunches will be included in the cost of attendance. Proceeds will be donated to the Complete Video Services and Film Production Actors Training scholarship fund for deserving individuals not able to afford professional training.
